This is the first year of our learning journey. During our first year of school we learn through playing and exploring, engaging in active learning and becoming creative and critical thinkers. We are encouraged to become independent learners and think of our own ideas, particularly when solving problems. We like to participate in a range of new activities, making links between our learning and we are proud of our achievements. Together, we are becoming respectful, positive, collaborative, responsible and determined learners that you do not give up, even when we find things tricky.

Our teacher is Mrs Salter and our TAs are Mrs McCluskey and Miss McConnell

Term 1

Orange class have had a fantastic time settling into school. We have been very busy with our phonics, drawing club and math learning! We have made new friends and enjoyed exploring both our indoor and outdoor environments. Orange class have been collaborative cats looking for signs of Autumn and joining in with the fun Autumn activities.

Term 2

Orange class have been busy this term creating spectacular firework pictures and using autumn leaves to create repeating patterns! We have enjoyed drawing club sharing some fantastic ideas of what we would take to the moon after reading. the story ‘whatever Next.’

In our maths learning we have been using positional language and investigating shape and numbers 1-5! We especially enjoyed making birthday cakes out of playdough and adding lolly stick candles! Orange class have had great fun building shelters and bridges for the dinosaurs as well as different size houses to use in our role play!
