We are a fantastic class who are determined to demonstrate our school values. We always try to have a positive attitude. We believe that we should respect our staff, our equipment and our environment so that we can work as a safe and happy team. We are collaborative cats who support each other.
You will find our class newsletters which will provide you with an overview of our learning each term.
Our teacher is Miss Morrison and our TAs are Mrs Cockings, Mrs Pullen and Miss Roob.
Term 1

We have really enjoyed our learning lift off activity this term!
The Year 3 pupils stepped into the shoes of paleaontologists as they took part in an exciting fossil excavation activity! Using special tools, they chipped away at the rock to uncover hidden fossils buried inside.

In our creative curriculum topic this term, we have been looking at how to add texture when sketching fossils. The pupils have used a range of techniques to produce some amazing artwork.
Term 2

As part of our creative curriculum topic this term, the children have been exploring what life was like during the Anglo-Saxon era. For our Learning Lift-Off, they designed and created their own Anglo-Saxon shields, carefully choosing colours that reflected key Saxon values - for example, red to represent strength.
The children have also been applying their historical knowledge in English. They have produced non-chronological reports about who the Anglo-Saxons were and have written diary entries from the perspective of Bron, the main character in our class text Freedom for Bron.
Term 4

For our Learning Lift Off, we explored lots of exciting activities to launch our new creative curriculum topic. We looked closely at different animal X-rays, grouped animals with endoskeletons and exoskeletons, and created our own hand X-rays using chalk and cotton buds. We also worked together to build a life-size skeleton and wrote down our questions about what we want to learn this term. This helped us to think like scientists and get excited about our new learning.
Term 5
This term, Year 3 have begun their exciting learning about the Stone Age and how people lived during this period. As part of our learning, the children explored how Stone Age people created different types of artwork to tell stories about their lives.

The pupils enjoyed creating their own Stone Age handprints, using different coloured paint sprayed around their hands to recreate the classic handprint art found in many caves. They also experimented with chalk and natural materials such as sticks and feathers to produce another style of Stone Age art, inspired by the materials early humans would have used.
The children showed great enthusiasm and creativity during this activity, and we look forward to continuing our exploration of life in the Stone Age throughout this term.
