Term 3

Our topic this term is: Who Am I?

Children are going to be provided with real life opportunities to explore changes and life cycles, making observations by being involved and concentrating. They are going to develop their creative and critical thinking skills by making comparisons when exploring similarities and differences within the environment. A wide range of reading experiences, with a focus on Julia Donaldson, will help the children to foster a love of reading.

As we continue to make links between our ideas, we respond to new experiences and begin to predict sequences e.g. what might happen next in a story.

-------------------------------

We came back after lunch to find that someone had been our classroom! Who could it be? They left clues, such as, I have terrible claws, a poisonous wart and orange eyes. Can you guess who it was?

We managed to unlock the magic codes for a second week running! In exchange the Gruffalo provided us with the ingredients to make our very own Gruffalo Crumble. Yum!

What a wonderful woodland walk we’ve had this week! Taking a stroll in our local area, we decided to go on a Gruffalo hunt. We found a logpile house and even a cave! After listening to another of our favourite Julia Donaldson stories ‘Stick Man’ we decided to collect some sticks to make our own stick people- look at the huge stick we found!

We managed to unlock the codes in Drawing Club this week, so the Gruffalo left us a ‘cosy cave’. How exciting! We have had lots of fun exploring with light to create our own shadows, just like the Gruffalo’s Child did.
