Yellow

Yellow class is made up of happy children who are keen to learn and aspire to work hard to achieve our dreams. We care about each other and listen to each other's thoughts and ideas. We especially enjoy the practical learning opportunities that are on offer in our class and enjoy celebrating our achievements with each other.

You will find our class newsletters which will provide you with an overview of our learning each term.

Our teacher is Mrs Moseling and our TA is Miss Rowland

What a fun learning lift off year one have had! To kick start our learning about the human body we had fun identifying our body parts and drawing around each other. We played body parts bingo and sang heads, shoulders, knees and toes.

Term 2

The children were very excited to find out how we can measure different aspects of weather. First we learnt about the different instruments and then we working collaboratively to create our own super scientist rain gauges. As the term continues we will monitor these and record our results to compare the difference in rainfall throughout Autumn and Winter.

Wow Year 1, what amazing writing. This term in curious quests we are taking our time to improve our handwriting. We are trying to focus on our letter position and size to create the perfect sentence for Professor Klunk. Take a look at some of our work and tell me what you think?

Learning Lift Off - Precious Plants

Child planting  Child planting  Child planting  Child planting  Child planting

Our outside area became a mini garden centre.  We earned pennies to spend during the day and then went to buy our own plants or seeds.  All of us were more interested in having a chance to plant our own seeds than we were in buying plants that had already grown.  Some of us choose vegetables like carrots and radishes and others chose flowers like marigolds and cornflowers.  We then carefully planted them and will now take care of them and watch them grow over the rest of the term.

We also planted bean seeds but instead of using a pot and soil, we have put them into transparent bags with cotton wool and stuck them to the window.  It will be interesting to see if and how they grow over the next few weeks!
