Violet
As Year 5 begins, there are many exciting opportunities for all of us to look forward to: new roles, new topics and new experiences and opportunities. Hopefully, it will be a year to remember and a success for all! We are an enthusiastic and cheerful class who are always eager to learn more. We are determined to show our school values and believe that anything is possible if you have a positive attitude. We enjoy being adventurous and working collaboratively to seek new and exciting information. As a member of Violet Class, we all enjoy celebrating our successes together.
You will find our class newsletters which will provide you with an overview of our learning each term.
Our Teacher is Mr Wright and our TA is Miss Harding
Term 1
So far, we have loved our forays into outer space. We have created some beautiful description of alien worlds in our English books which have used our knowledge of figurative language and relative clauses to make our writing come alive.

While doing this, we have also used our creative, artistic brains to build new solar systems from planets we have created with marbling. A messy but effective technique which was thoroughly enjoyed by the children. We also learned that if you mix all the colours together in shaving foam, it makes a very drab, grey planet instead!

As you will see on Thursday, the children have also been using their charcoal skills to explore light, dark, texture and shape while creating some fantastic still life drawings for the harvest festival which we hope you all enjoyed.

Come the end of term, we hope to welcome you to our interactive art gallery where you will see our out of this world art!
