An exciting start to Term 6! We have started looking at places around the world and been learning about the 7 continents and the 5 oceans. We have been learning a song to help us remember them. We started our adventure in Dover and we looked at the human and physical geography that Dover has to offer. We then moved to Lisbon and looked at sculptures from an artist called Cesar Manrique. We looked at his work and it inspired us to draw our own sculptures incorporating some of his ideas into ours.
We have been looking at our new class book ‘Meerkat Mail’. We have read the story, learnt the story and even acted out the story. We are showing how we think a Meerkat would look. We have started to plan our own adventure story using Meerkat Mail to help us. We are excited to write our own adventure story over next week.
In maths we have been looking at fraction, 1 whole, 1 half, 1 quarter and even 1 third. We have learnt how to colour in a fraction of a shape and even learnt how to colour in 2 and 3 quarters of a shape! We have also been looking at pictograms and have been creating our own and answering questions about them. We have collected some data from the class about what pets we have at home and are going to make them into a bar chart!
As a class we ran our part for Race for Life! We had so much fun and ask a class we ran 181 laps of the school field and playground! How amazing!!
In topic we were looking at Asia and the countries in Asia. We tried some chicken noodles and we loved them!! They tasted magnificent and smelt amazing!
