Our School

Welcome to Vale View Primary School and Nursery, part of The Whinless Down Academy Trust.

A very warm welcome to Vale View Primary School and Nursery!

Whether you are a parent, a member of our school community or a visitor discovering Vale View for the first time, I hope our website gives you a sense of what makes our school such a special place to learn, belong and grow.

We are a proud, inclusive, one-form entry primary school and nursery in the heart of Dover, working collaboratively with St Martin's Primary School and Priory Fields School as part of our multi-academy trust.

At Vale View, we believe that every child matters, every child belongs and every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Our school is built upon a strong sense of community, where difference is celebrated, individuality is valued and everyone is welcomed, respected and included. We recognise that every child arrives with their own experiences, strengths, aspirations and starting points. It is our responsibility to understand each child, remove barriers to learning and provide the opportunities, support and challenge they need to achieve their very best.

We are ambitious for every child. Through high-quality teaching, a carefully designed and inspiring curriculum, and consistently high expectations, we are committed to improving educational outcomes and ensuring that all children develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed. We want every child to experience success, recognise their achievements and develop the determination and resilience to embrace new challenges.

Our ambition extends far beyond academic achievement.

We are passionate about developing the whole child — academically, socially, emotionally and personally. We want our children to leave Vale View not only as successful learners, but as confident, compassionate and responsible young citizens who understand their place in the world and recognise the positive difference they can make.

Through rich learning experiences, meaningful opportunities and a strong emphasis on personal development, we encourage children to be curious, think independently, respect different perspectives and contribute positively to their communities. We want them to develop a strong sense of identity and belonging, alongside an appreciation of the diversity of the world around them.

Positive and respectful relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Our dedicated and highly skilled staff work collaboratively to create a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment where children feel happy, valued and secure. We believe that when children feel they belong, they develop the confidence to take risks, embrace challenges and flourish.

Our school values of Collaboration, Positivity, Respect, Determination and Responsibility underpin our daily life and guide the way we learn, behave and treat one another. They help our children develop the character, attitudes and behaviours that will support them throughout their lives.

We recognise that strong partnerships with parents and carers are fundamental to children's happiness, development and achievement. We value the knowledge families have of their children and believe that by working together, listening carefully and celebrating successes, we can provide the very best opportunities for every child.

Above all, Vale View is a school where children are known, valued and encouraged to believe in themselves. We are proud of our happy children, our committed staff and our supportive school community, all working together with a shared ambition that every child will leave us ready for their next stage of education and equipped to make a positive contribution to society.

Our commitment is simple: every child belongs, every child can achieve, and every child will be supported to be the best they can be.

I warmly invite you to explore our website and discover more about life at Vale View. If you would like to experience our school for yourself, please contact our school office to arrange a visit. We would be delighted to welcome you.
